Dr. Bethany Becker earned her Bachelor of Science degree from BYU–Idaho where she graduated at the top of her class. She then got her doctorate from the University of Missouri–St. Louis College of Optometry, a college known for training providers in advanced medical state of the art procedures, with Beta Sigma Kappa honors and awards in both contact lens fitting and pediatric care.
Dr. Becker has been a member of the American Optometric Student Association (AOSA), American Academy of Optometry-Student Branch (AAO), Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH), National Optometric Student Association (NOSA), and United Optometrists of America (UOA). These organizations gave her instrumental meaningful opportunities including assembling glasses packages for underserved nations and organizing an Easter egg hunt and carnival for the visually impaired. She continues to serve her community by being actively involved in the American Optometric Association (AOA), the Alaskan Optometric Association (AKOA), and various church volunteer groups.
Dr. Becker has a kind heart and loves caring for patients of all ages. Her patients appreciate her enthusiasm for eyes and comprehensive explanations of vision and ocular health conditions. Dr. Becker is passionate about helping people overcome their dry eyes and excited to be joining a practice with such advanced diagnostic tools, treatments, and procedures.
Dr. Becker grew up in a military family and was born at the old Elmendorf AFB hospital. Due to her years spent going from one military installation to another, she has developed an appreciation for working with military members and their families, both active duty and retired. She loves being back in the beautiful state of Alaska and placing permanent roots here is a dream come true.
