Dr. Adam Clark has spent years honing his knowledge & skills in disease detection and has been trained in the treatment of ocular disease with leading-edge medicine and surgery. He was awarded a doctorate degree with honors from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry (NSUOCO) after a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from Northeastern State University. Dr. Adam Clark was extremely fortunate to receive the most comprehensive training available for his specialty. In addition to routine eye exams, soft and specialty contact lens services, Dr. Clark received certification and performed anterior segment ophthalmic laser procedures, in-office surgical procedures, and modern treatments of a wide variety of ocular diseases. Dr. Clark graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA and received a silver medal from Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. He was nominated by his school to receive the highest Academic Achievement Award of his graduating class and was recognized for his accomplishments in national magazines/journals. Dr. Clark is a master of personal communication and his patients enjoy his calm, respectful, and compassionate demeanor. He takes pride in knowing he does his best to answer his patients’ questions and educate them about their visual system. He helps patients prevent eye disease and see well by educating them and providing thorough examinations to detect early signs of disease.
Dr. Clark has a passion for serving patients less fortunate. He has participated in several medical mission trips to Honduras, where he helped provide eye care to over 1,700 patients. He was also a frequent volunteer in the Oklahoma community serving as a Lions Club member and attending multiple “Opening Eyes” Special Olympics events to provide over 800 eye exams to special needs athletes. Dr. Clark has also served in community events including the Men’s Health Fairs, Hispanic Health Fairs, and other Clinics. Dr. Clark looks forward to volunteering and assisting underprivileged patients in Alaska.
He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Alaska Optometric Association and previously the American Optometric Student Association (AOSA), National Optometric Student Association (NOSA), Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH), Beta Sigma Kappa honors society, and Lions Club organization and has contributed to improving healthcare & making it more available to all.
Dr. Clark and his wife Samantha fell in love with the beauty of Alaska when they visited the state and decided to make Alaska their home. He is thrilled to be a part of the Makar Eyecare team and to be able to use the latest medical and optical technologies to enhance the daily lives of Alaskans.
